United - A Weird Owen Rumour?
One of the weirdest rumours we`ve uncovered today surrounds Michael Owen!
One news agency is trying to peddle the belief that ambitious Bristol City, who have already signed the aging England keeper David James, have been offered Michael Owen on loan.
The rumour has come about after Bristol City had initially enquired about taking Danny Welbeck on loan.
Welbeck, as we`ve already reported this week, is destined for a loan period at a Premier League club this season and, according to this brave agency, were offered Owen as an alternative.
Now we can`t see there being a cat-in-hells chance of this coming off.
Two reasons spring to mind, the first relates to Owen himself probably being far from interested in turning out in the Championship and the second the fact that he`s hardly fully fit yet, despite turning out for United in Ireland last nigh (and scoring).
Perhaps somebody is having a laugh at somebody`s expense but I wouldn`t advise anybody to visit the bookies and put money on Michael Owen turning up at Ashton Gate!
