'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Rooney Community Shield Date!

After being pictured, in the tabloid media, enjoying the sort of night out you and I might enjoy, we understand matters were a little frosty in training yesterday.

Understandably, Sir Alex Ferguson was not too impressed at the sight of his star forward, and highest paid player, pictured urinating in public and puffing away on a cigarette.

There`s also the small matter of tempting sponsorship to a club saddled with a huge debt to think about.

Nevertheless, as a United supporter, the punishment Sir Alex is, according to one tabloid, pursuing is a favourable one for me.

Rooney was expected to play in Dublin tomorrow night and then be rested for the Community Shield, it now looks as if there`ll be no rest for the wicked and Rooney will be in the starting line-up against Chelsea, this Sunday, at Wembley!

Hardly what we`d call a punishment is it? A chance to grace the stage at the national stadium!
