Gudjohnsen Latest

Manchester United seems to be ahead of Barcelona as the race hots up to sign Chelsea's Icelandic international striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The player is considering the offer of a three-year contract with Barca, according to reports from Spain.

But The Manchester Evening News claims United are hopeful of completing a deal now they've settled their differences with Chelsea over the John Obi Mikel saga.

The Red Devils will receive £12million from the Premiership champions for Mikel, and are ready to hand £8million of it straight back for Gudjohnsen.

what's it like to have our cast -offs?
merlin
I don't understand why he's a cast off - he's a more prolific striker than Drogba... it seems strange that Mourinho is willing to let him go!
pitythefool
I have always rated him. I agree he is better and more versatile than Drogba. Not sure why he favoured him over Gudjohnsen in the first place. Again, Pompey will have hi on loan if ya like ;)

Intelligent player, sorry to see him go, but probably best for him, will really struggle for games, still hoping he goes to Barca!!

good deal for manu but reckon he will go to spain or italy
scottm_1989
Whats seems starnger is that more eno would let him go to another Premiership club.
FEn_100
i doubt it, possibly just pushing for a bidding war
scottm_1989
I think Jose would not stop any loyal player moving where he wants, Huth to Boro, sure he would prefer Barca as we all would, but if Eidur wants man Usa then I think he would let him go there
