United - Sir Alex Thankful For The Saved Millions

The transfer to Man United of Javier Hernandez before the world cup could prove to be one of the top transfer master stokes that Sir Alex Ferguson has managed to pull off.

Chivas de Guadalajara and United's coaching staff worked well together earlier in the year to get the strikers deal completed, and on the quiet.

This has seen Sir Alex praise everyone concerned as he knows this saved the club millions: 'I think our scouting people deserve 10 out of 10 for identifying him before the World Cup and I think if we had been trying to negotiate after the World Cup it would have been very difficult.

'I think a lot of teams would have been after him and it would probably have cost us two or three times more.

'Our relationship we have built with Chivas has been excellent, they really were very accommodating in everything, the amazing thing was that no-one in the club said a word.

'At Manchester United we find that almost impossible, news always leaks out at our club, but Chivas kept it quiet which was a marvellous asset for us and full marks for their professionalism.'

Rather than thrust him into the fold too soon Sir Alex is keen to asses the striker to make sure his fitness levels are right before easing him into the picture, although playing a major role with the club this season is something that is going to be the case with the 22-year-old, who looks destined to have a very bright future ahead of him.

What a player he looks to be. I wonder how many goals he will score? If he play like he did at the World Cup whne coming off the bench i would say a respectable 12.

Not as thankful as the Glazer's I'll bet.

If thats the best you can crow about, it says it all really - United fans are being fed on scraps and don't even see it - remember when you had Ronaldo and Tevez - now Smalling and Hernandez - bet you can't wait for the beginning of the season.
