'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Scholes Disclosure!

The weird manner in which Fabio Capello appears to direct proceedings has thrown up two further examples.

Whilst the England U19 team contemplate a European Championship semi-final against Spain today, they do so with the knowledge that Fabio can`t be asked to attend and has also never spoken with the U19 boss, Noel Blake.

Also, it`s now emerging that Paul Scholes, when asked if he would consider coming out of international retirement, wasn`t called by the man himself but by his number two, prompting Paul to remark on the ongoing North America tour about not hearing from Fabio directly,

"Maybe it might have meant more. It was difficult as Baldini rang me the day before the squad was announced."

"I retired back in 2004 and now I was being asked to make a major decision in two hours or something."

"If I`d had a bit more time maybe my decision would have been different."

Now we`ve heard of delegation but is that not taking it a step too far?

However, with South Africa 2010 done and dusted, do we detect a hint of regret in Paul`s remarks when he utters,

"A week before the tournament, I thought maybe I made the wrong decision."

Believe me Paul, you were better off out of it!

My suspicions were raised about Capello when he picked Heskey and Carragher for the team, whilst leaving out Adam Johnson. Mystifying. He also opted to play an extremely unfit Barry and failed to grasp the nettle of Gerrar/Lampard playing in the same team. Is it true he was considering Hargreaves avter less than a minute of first team football?! Fur coat and no knickers is the image that springs to mind about Don Fabio.
