United - Striker To Miss Season Start!

United - Striker To Miss Season Start!

Owen Hargreaves apart, the most unlucky player I can recall, in recent days, at Old Trafford, just has to be Michael Owen.

It was always going to be a gamble signing Michael, Sir Alex would have been perfectly aware of his troublesome past when it comes to muscle injuries.

Strains, pulls and tears seem to have blighted the career of Michael since he first burst onto the scene as a fresh faced teenager, at Liverpool, with the whole world ahead of him.

Therefore, it doesn`t come as too much of a surprise to hear that Michael will not be fit for the start of the season as he continues his rehabilitation and recovery from the injury that saw his 2009 / 2010 season finish early.

But, there`s still no doubting that on his day Michael remains one of the most potent finishers around which is probably why Sir Alex thought he was worth the risk.

Liverpool seem to run all their strikers legless. Torres has begun to show signs of Owen-esque career.

Meh. We have Hernandez who is basically the same sort of player Owen was when he was young; though obviously not as good as him.
