Is Vieira A Realistic Target?

The ex-Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has been linked with a shock move to Manchester United, but is this just newpaper talk?

We all know reporters have 'dead' months to fill articles and sell newspapers. And with very little going on before the World Cup, they have to build up speculation - true or fabricated.

Apparently the Juventus player is concerned with the current match-fixing investigation which could result in the Italian champions being relegated to Serie B.

They say Vieira is not comfortable with the current situation and has also recently been linked with a return to Arsenal but has refused to comment on his future.

So will Sir Alex Ferguson see him as a perfect replacement for the man Vieira disliked so much - Roy Keane?

I am a Arsenal season ticket holder. Vieira did not dislike Roy Keane at all. In his book he speaks of his respect of keane and how he loved to play against him. The two players he hated of United were Ruud who he called a 'son of a b*tch' and Gary Neville. He has had a very poor season by his standards in Italy and if Juve are relegated I cant see a long list of clubs being after him.

if vieira wants to leave i would expect he would want to go back to arsenal not go to manchester

I disagree, I do not think he would go to Arsenal, hard to think he would go to Man Usa either, but if they are relegated....anything could happen!
