United - The Berbatov Conundrum!

Dimitar Berbatov cost £29 million when he joined us from Spurs.

At twenty-nine years of age he should be in his prime.

But since arriving at Old Trafford he has flattered to deceive. Great games are vastly outnumbered by flat ones and many suspected he may have played his last game for us.

Bu that doesn`t appear to be the case, there are no indications of Berbatov moving on as Sir Alex looks set to persevere with the Bulgarian.

Whether it`s a confidence thing or whether he just doesn`t fit into our style of play remains an unsolved mystery.

But, the players seem to recognize he is a unique talent and Darren Fletcher has stepped forward to offer the following comment.

"Dimitar is a great football player with fantastic ability and I can`t see him going anywhere."

"He`s an important part of the team and a great lad."

And as for Dimitar himself, he wants nothing more than to stay and is quoted as having said,

"My goal is to remain with United, the best team in the world. I know I have the qualities to do so."

So is that one last season to deliver the goods then or should he be shipped out now?

One last season. We all know what he's capable of so lets not be too hasty wasting 30 mil because we didn't get instant results.

Not a bad player, but like Forlan, never really got going. Definitely not value for money, I think.

As we City fans like to say, "there but for the grace of god"!

He cost £30.75million, plus Campbell on loan for a season. Haha

To think we nearly stole him from you, guess it was our lucky day. Of course we are very happy with Carlos, hope he can do even better alongside Super Mario.
