'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Giggs on his Future!

The lure of the MLS seems to have become a prominent talking point.

Yesterday it was Darren Fletcher extolling its virtues and today Ryan Giggs has also jumped on the bandwagon.

Giggs, approaching the final stages of his United career and possibly his final season with us, has echoed the sentiments expressed by Fletcher commenting,

"Becks is probably the biggest footballer worldwide and he`s still playing for England`s national team so it`s hard not to respect the quality of MLS."

"Being in America you have a great lifestyle - good for raising a family - and the playing is getting better."

"I still have a year left with Manchester United. After that maybe I`ll be too old."

It appears that the days have gone whereby America was the place to extend your career after reaching the end back in England.

Ryan, a splendid servant and much respected professional, has also given a hint as to what it`s like as you start to realise that the end is possibly nigh, remarking,

"The older you get the more you appreciate what you`ve got."

"With each season I`ve come to appreciate it more. And I think it shows in the way you play - you play knowing you may be done soon."

I`m not sure sparingly is the word required here; let`s just say in bursts shall we!

No, seriously, Ryan still has the ability to turn matches and although we doubt he`ll be an ever present at Old Trafford next season we know that Sir Alex will use him wisely and when called upon Ryan will deliver the goods, just like he has done since he arrived as a fresh faced youngster.

Al Billy
For his years of service to the game, league and club maybe. I know on performances he didn't really deserve it but what a role model he is.
