United - Fabiano Staying Put!

The World Cup threw up a number of rumours speculating that Manchester United might be tracking certain stars.

One such rumour decreed that we were interested in the Brazilian forward, Luis Fabiano.

Fabiano, who plays for Sevilla, caught the eye with a two goal salvo for Brazil as the tournament favourites looked to fulfill their potential early on.

However, any expectations that Fabiano could be bound for Old Trafford appear to have been put on the back burner with the suggestion now being that he`ll be staying at Sevilla despite interest from ourselves and AC Milan.

I guess it might well be a case of the price, on this occasion, not being right!

Some of my red mates have a bit of a theory that you really aren't going to buy anyone, but that the club itself is spreading rumours of links to players in order to try and get some of the several thousand unsold season tickets shifted. Not saying this is gospel, but looking like you've tried to sign players only for them to turn you down or the deal to collapse would be a jolly good way of diverting attention from an impending financial crisis at the club. Thoughts?

Or, possibly, the newspapers are trying to sell and so are targeting the biggest audience, us, United, and giving us what we want to hear. All these transfers are mere speculation and if Fergie buys it will be more along the lines of an Anderson, Nani or Hernandez buy rather than an already great player or prospect.

and a stroppy one at that I'd say!
