United - A Forlan Success Story!

How many times did you sit and watch Diego Forlan performing in the World Cup and question whether we should ever have sold him?

Playing for Uruguay, the player for whom it just didn`t happen for at Old Trafford put on a master class showing the full range of his skills.

Scoring 5 goals he was only beaten to the Golden Boot by Thomas Muller who equaled Diego`s scoring record but was accredited with more assists.

But, there was some reward for his excellent World Cup when Diego, quite rightly, scooped the Golden Ball award for the Player of the Tournament.

Now whether his exploits will see him remain at Atletico Madrid or provide him with a bigger stage to perform on, remains to be seen!

But us hardy souls at Vital Manchester United would like to wish him well and congratulate him on a wonderful tournament.

Wonderful player, never really sure why he flopped at OT. Pure class.

He flopped at Old Trafford because ferguson is a stubborn old soak who would rather play someone out of position to fit with "his" way of thinking than adapt his system to fit the players. It works sometimes, but in the case of Forlan it clearly didn't. Can't complain though, his mismangement of Tevez is what led him to sign for us and, what can I say - properly managed, he scored 29 goals! Berbatov is a case in point, and I bet the Bulgarian flop starts banging them in for fun as soon as he's scraped the red shirt off his back.

But when playing a player in Fergies system and it works, it really does work well fcb. A great player just a shame he couldn't show his talent in a United kit.
TheFamousNo7
fifthcolumnblue - so is that why Fergie has had such limited success during his reign?
Al Billy
Boy can he score them! I think he was just on a high 'cos he really hated the vuvus so the best way to keep 'em quiet. What can you say? when a player doesnt work for you cant do anymore.Veron anyone.
