'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United Join City in Striker Race!

Now this could be a good one!

It'll give us the opportunity, if it comes to fruition, to see whether one of the games brightest young strikers is money or trophy orientated!

Yesterday, or was it the day before, Manchester City were linked with a move for the teenage Italian striking sensation Mario Balotelli.

Today, the plot has thickened with it being mentioned that Manchester United have also expressed an interest.

The Inter technical director, Marco Branca has remarked,

"We are fortunate to have good players so its normal big teams in Europe are thinking about them. There is interest from Manchester United and from Manchester City in Balotelli."

"But it is very early to say if there will be any business done."

"Inter are in first position and we have to think about our future."

So what`s it to be punk, cash from the oil well or a career collecting trophies?

The choice is yours!

Balotelli is a walking attitude. He is undeniably talented and young, but he hardly strikes me as the kind of player that Fergie would want to nurse-maid in the twilight of his managerial career. I think this might just be kidology on fergie's part, ie he's swallowed the tabloid crap about us signing yoonited targets and is now giving some back. Plus, as Willy has pointed out, Inter are asking far far too much cash for this player and I'd be very surprised if either of our teams actually landed him. One thing in our favour however, is the fact that Balotelli regards Mancini as a bit of a "father figure" for mentoring him when he was younger, and Balotelli's problems only started once Mourinho had taken over at the San Siro. And as for the trophies jibe, well, I've heard that one before, as they say, history is in the past, the future is ours mate!

30 mil for Balotelli! Yea right, let me write down a list of players i'd rather spend 30 mil on.

He'll have both if he joins City Red Boy, "cash from the oil well" along with "a career collecting trophies".
bluedub
probably just a ploy to inflate his transfer fee
khoder
and his salary seeing as City seem willing to throw silly money at players!
