United - Neville Tells It As It Is!

Having amassed eighty-five England caps it`s fair to say that Gary Neville is the voice of experience.

Neville has sat patiently listening to all these ludicrous cries about ditching the major players in the England squad and bringing in a bunch of younger players.

But, some of the players mentioned are not even, yet, first team regulars at their parent clubs, the likes of Jack Wilshire and Jack Rodwell, so Gary is quite right when he lambastes such talk, remarking,

"There is talk about Capello blooding youngsters ahead of Euro 2012, but there is no magic wand."

"Okay, David James is 39 but Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Ledley King, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, James Milner, Michael Carrick and Gareth Barry will still play. You can`t just conjure up 11 brilliant new England players."

"There are perhaps one or two young players that could force their way into the next squad."

"But there is no factory that will suddenly produce a group no one has heard of. The reality is, most players in the first 11 at the World Cup will play in England`s next friendly in August."

Unless Mr Capello wants even more egg on his face!

too late for a Nev come back :-)

Don't think he has what it takes to be honest. A good defender but any remotely fast left sided player can leave him standing still these days.
