United - The Target is Sneijder!

United - The Target is Sneijder!

And finally, our magnificent club has hit the headlines with regards to a potential transfer.

After losing our Premier League title to that lot from down south, Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking for that one special player to ensure we`re better prepared this season to wrestle that gorgeous trophy back.

Now the press have gone overboard and come up with the name of that one special player that Sir Alex is keen on signing, a certain Wesley Sneijder.

Sneijder, currently staring for Holland as the Dutch side march toward the final of South Africa 2010, has had a marvellous season at Inter Milan.

But, with Jose Mourinho having left and Rafael Benitez having taken over the feelings amongst the tabloid reporters are that Sneijder could well be lured away with Benitez keen to put hi sown identity on the Milan team and not rest in the shadow of Jose Mourinho.

Unfortunately, the proposed fee could be a stumbling block, with a mind-boggling fee of £35 million being quoted by the tabloid journalists.

With Sir Alex having recently been quoted as saying the Glazer family have always provided him with the players he`s wanted, could this be the ultimate test?

Will the money be found to lure the Dutch maestro to Old Trafford?

Or will some players have to be sold to create that financial balancing act that seems part and parcel of football these days?

Is Alex going to ring his mate Rafa personally to see this transfer through?

Don't make me laugh .......you lot couldn't afford Nicky Butt these days never mind Sneijder. You do live in a fantasy world of total delusion ............ you are broke and being conned that you are not. Get real for once and carry on with the old crocks.

Our last signing, which isn't guarenteed to be a major signing, isn't going to be sneijder. It's wishful thinking, he said he's happy to stay at Inter, his price is silly to say the least and also this isn't a Fergie signing in my opinion.

Also for sillywilly above, Fergie has never been denied the money for any transfer, the Glazers always cough up when he has wanted someone. The simple fact is his not going to be stupid. When you consider there may be a diamond in the mud out there for a much smaller fee it doesn't make sense to buy the best thing when you can buy the next best thing. The difference between us and you, other than your money and our years of glory, is you've got 'mug' written on your head.

Fergie has money, and will undoubtedly spend some of it before the transfer window closes - can you imagine the uproar amongs the green and gold brigade if he doesn't make at least one more "decent" purchase (by decent I mean an established or nearly established star, rather than a prospect who may or may not make it". Someone like Sneijder fits the bill, as you need a replacement for Scholes.
