United - In Four Years Time Wayne…….!

Sunning himself in the West Indies, it appears that Sir Alex is doing his utmost to repair the tarnished public image of Wayne Rooney.

The striker, who never really got going in South Africa for reasons that we`ll perhaps never comprehend or even get to know, has been tipped as the man to watch in four years time when the World Cup Final circus moves to Brazil.

Sir Alex, looking after his players in a way only he does, has commented,

"There was talk of him being the player of the tournament."

"The prelude to the whole thing was that he was going to be the star."

"He was going to outshine Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, all of them." That`s where the level of expectation comes into it."

"But he`s not got great experience of a World Cup really. You wait, in four years time you`ll see a different player."

One small point though - after the shambolic displays in South Africa, let`s not take qualification for 2014 for granted!
