'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Let He Who Is Without Sin………..!

The England World Cup fiasco continues to rumble on!

With the FA having decided that Fabio Capello was not to blame the search fro scapegoats continues to widen its net.

The News of the World continue sot spread its muck by running the results of a poll that it undertook.

The third question (of three) in that poll asks the damning question,

Who was the worst England player at the tournament?

Can you guess what`s coming?

No it wasn`t Robert Green for letting that daisy cutter from Clint Dempsey perpetrate his grasp!

It wasn`t Emile Heskey for his p*ss poor impression of a striker, especially when bearing down on goal in the USA match!

It wasn`t Steven Gerrard for his run-around like a headless chicken act!

It wasn`t Matthew Upson or John Terry for their - how not to be a successful defensive partnership master-class!

It wasn`t even Jamie Carragher for his brief flirtation with World Cup action before calling it a day again!

It was, yes you`ve guessed it, according to the poll, all the fault of Wayne Rooney who received 32% of the votes cast!

Peasants, every last man and woman who voted for our Wayne!

People only see him as the worst just because of the great expectations they had for him.

hopefully he gets *****ed of and retires from international football to concentrate purely on United.
khoder
He was worse than Heskey, the stats prove this. Therefore he was an embarrassment

Rooney is a class player but he had a ***** World Cup - why is not clear as it wasn't just the system. He had no touch or momentum. Was he scared of being sent off and thus didn't play his normal game ?

Ah c'mon lads, I admire the whole loyalty towards your player thing, but Rooney was quite clearly England's worst player over the four games. Of course the team's failures aren't down to an individual but Rooney gave absolutely nothing to England's cause.

did he get the chance? the service he got was poor to say the least!
merlin
He couldn't even control the ball Merin, his touch was awful. Your right about the service though that was equally awful, but in saying that even if it was provided I doubt Rooney, given his form, would have benefitted from it.
bluedub
Yes he was poor but then again take into consideration the poor performances from all those around him, the poor service, the poor tactical skills, the lack of leadership, the lack of chemistry etc, etc then what do you expect. No team can be carried by one man nor should a team be expected to be carried by one man, he could only do so much.
