United - Fergie Seeks Rooney Assurances!

After his poor showing in the World Cup raised alarms, Sir Alex Ferguson has moved quickly to seek re-assurances.

Sir Alex contacted Wayne Rooney to see if his poor performances were, in any way, down to ain injury and also to assess his mental state after England`s mauling by the media.

Everything appears to be fine with Rooney, who is currently enjoying a little summer sun in the West Indies.

A club source confirmed,

"Sir Alex has spoken to Wayne to make sure he wasn`t blaming himself for what happened in South Africa."

"Wayne assured him that he was physically fit and suffered no injury problems with England."

"But it was agreed that Wayne should go away and recharge his batteries for the new season."

"Sir Alex has no doubts he`ll be better than ever next year."

It`ll certainly be interesting to see if the public affection the country had for Wayne has waned after that awful World Cup!

I think the public will only go as far as to say he had a 5h1te world cup.
