United - Rio To Miss Season Kick-Off!

After returning home, without kicking a ball in anger, from South Africa 2010, with a knee injury, United may well have to do without h their influential central defender when the season commences.

Rio, whose recuperation is well under way, isn`t going to be rushed back. Sir Alex Ferguson has already decreed that he`ll not be going on the USA / Canada tour and that there`s the distinct possibility he`ll not be available for the first England international, in August.

Better to be safe than sorry with this one we feel. It`s a long tiring season ahead and we don`t want Rio coming back anything less than 100 per cent fit.

If Vidic goes and Rio's injured young Smalling might get an early chance to impress!

Not a repeat of last season, please.

He should probably be sold, but I highly doubt he will be. He was very unimpressive last season whenever he played, and the Evans/Vidic combinations last season was far more impressive.
