United - That Was Uncalled For Rooney!

United - That Was Uncalled For Rooney!

Wayne! What have you done!

Now normally I`d defend Rooney until I`m blue in the face but last night even I think the lad lost it big time!

After witnessing the poorest performance by England (and Rooney) I can ever recall, the side were, quite rightly in my opinion, booed off the pitch!

Now whether Rooney was exasperated at his own inept performance or simply frustrated at how things had turned out for the team, he turned to a camera which quite clearly caught him remarking,

"Nice to see your home fans boo you!"

Wayne mate, you`re a performer on a stage and if those who are watching don`t like the product they see served up, they have a right to voice their opinions.

It`s not as if they never gave you, or the team a chance, they cheered themselves hoarse trying to rally this dysfunctional team but without any noticeable response.

Some, no doubt, have scraped together every last penny to follow the side to South Africa, some have probably put themselves into debt just to say that they were there, for most, come the end of our involvement, there will be no fortnight at some luxury resort, it`ll be backs to the grind, back to the drudgery of the daily work place.

Wayne, you`re my hero but last night that temperament of yours, a temperament that I`ve defended in recent weeks, just showed that you`re far from the finished article.

Get a grip lad, this was meant to be your tournament, your chance to flourish, your chance to enhance your status, not mouth off at those who put you on a pedestal you don`t, on current performances, deserve to be on.

There, I`ve had my say, you have yours!

He was dreadful, what annoys me the most is whenever we were getting on the attack our main man was nowhere to be seen! I feel Capello also has a part to play in this, we all know Rooney gets frustrated when he's not recieving the ball and when he gets frustrated he drifts out of position and no longer plays as the leading man of our attack. Capello therefore should be telling Rooney stand f***ing still! He also failed to make the change that was much needed and is far too stubborn to accept his system isnt 100% fool proof and can be inaffective. I'm going to finish this rant now as i could be here for ages picking the flaws out of every player on the pitch during the game!

Always liked Rooney but his display for his national team last night was absolutely hideous. He was a man off and to blame the fans for booing really shows how mad these players are. They need to step out of their million pound shaped co*****s and realise that these fans have paid thousands to watch a joke team and worse manager.

Engalnd are and have been a very poor side for a long long time now! I love to see them fail at every opportunity.I'm not exactly sure if it's the English media i laugh at more as they create a false sense of belief,over-hyping players and the nations chances of winning a major tournament, or if it's the English "fan" who really believes that you have a devine right to win something because you're "Ingerland". But alas, I'm with Rooney, because if you listened to yourselves before the WC, 'Capello is the mesiah", and all that and how quickly you lot turn against your team when things go wrong,he does have a point! Hoping you don't progress on Wednesday and then we can watch Englands world cup bid go up in smoke after 100's of arrests following dismal performance ;) FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!!..........

I wonder if anyone remembers the tabloid headlines when the world cup groups were drawn???......... E A S Y E ngland, A lgeria, S lovenia, Y anks..... I DO :)

I would hardly consider a team filled with Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole a poor side and even then there's good but not amazing players. I never expect England to win the World Cup, for a while now i've expected every game we've gone in to for us to **** up being honest. I wouldn't blame the fan they're expected to support the team but i do admit the media over-hype us far too much and for the record i would like to go down as one of those who have always questioned Capellos ability, i've always said we only got to where we were in the World Rankings because we beat small teams like Kazakhstan and Andorra.

Tongue in cheek The FamousNo7, I wasn't having a swipe!!!... ;)

Answered you're own question with that last post Java its not us fans its the media. Don't blame us because i believe only a minority of use truely believe were going to win the World Cup.

The strain of carrying united for an entire season is clearly showing in Rooney's performances. The lad is knackered, not fully fit and is going to struggle for you next season if he doesn't get a rest. For what it's worth, though, I haven't got the foggiest why he's not being played as the main striker (HESKEY???!!!!! OMG!), as even a fully fit Rooney isn't going to have maximum influence in the position Capello is playing him!
19/06/2010 20:32:00
Rooney is extending the frustration that i am sure all ingerland fans feel! The levels of optimism were artificially bloated and the team has lacked cohesiveness! His best strike partner is Gerrard, makes you wonder what the point was in taking the other three. Capello should have take the likes of Johnson to add some ball playing variety instead of asking Roo to look for the second ball all the time.

worst part was 'that is loyal support for you'. LOYAL? These players wouldn't know the meaning of the word. Had a rant on Vital England: Protect Poor Rooney From Boos - Drop Him They don't understand how much money these trips cost, most of the England fans at the World Cup will have been saving for a good few years or in debt for a few years to cover the costs, all they ask for is 100% and we didn't even get 50% the other day. Spoilt bratts these players, they should learn to show some respect and keep their mouths shut.
