United - More on Chiellini!

Yesterday the tabloids broke the news that Manchester United had found the perfect replacement for Vidic should the Serbian international leave Old Trafford this summer.

The man in the frame was Giorgio Chiellini and from follow up reports, in the tabloids, the chances of Chiellini becoming a United player look better than average.

His agent, David Lippi, son of Marcello Lippi, has spoken to the media about the apparent interest. Now whilst we get the usual nothing doing until the World Cup is over, there are other quotes that give good clues that Chiellini, who has reached a stalemate in contract talks with Juventus, could be open to a move.

See what you think,

"United is a club and England is a country of great importance to us. We like them a lot."

"With Giorgio, we`ve decided that during the World Cup we won`t think about the transfer market. But after the World Cup, we will think about everything. He is honoured to be of interest to United."

"He has a contract with Juventus but, given he`s 25 and when he signed his contract he was very young, now is the time a player at his level has to get the contract a top player deserves."

"At Juventus many have top contracts but not Giorgio."

It looks like that old devil called parity may see Chiellini divorcing the Old Lady of Turin!

Seems like he is just using us to get a new contract to be honest.

As is often the case when Chelsea are linked with anyone!

From what i see he's just after a good amount of money and no doubt when City, Chelsea or Madrid see this they will offer stupid wages something we cant.

if it's just about money I don't want him!

Its hard to find players who aren't just about the money though. Fair enough money can't buy you anyone as proven by City but even if you are a trophy winning team a proven talent still doesn't mind asking for an extravagent wage.
