United - Italian Defender Targeted

United - Italian Defender Targeted

Fearful that Vidic will resurrect, and drive through, his desire to leave Old Trafford, the tabloid press has lined us up with a ready made replacement.

According to one prominent source, Sir Alex Ferguson has decided that the replacement, should Vidic leave, will be the Juventus star, Giorgio Chiellini

Chiellini is twenty-five years old and the rumoured price would be in the range of £25 million.

The tabloid suspects that Juventus would be willing to sell as the money received would help finance a re-structure of a side that had a disappointing season in Serie A

Surprisingly, Chiellini is rumoured to be on a mere £1.7 million a season, therefore a move to Old Trafford would result in a substantial pay rise.

We`ll keep you informed if there are any further developments on this one.

Not unless we are getting upwards of 30 for Vida!

If the money for vidic is 10m more than we pay for a younger replacement its good business. Vidic is never gonna be worth more than he is worth now. If his mind or body is not capable of meeting his previously high standards we should cash in now.

A mere £1.7 mil, I wish I got that! I wouldn't say Chiellini is worth anywhere near £25 mil when you take into consideration the poor season they had, the gulf in quality between Vidic and Chiellini and the fact that they're desperate for money to restructure.
