'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Just like Marmite!

You either love them or you hate them!

But these vuvuzelas that are being blown with monotonous regularity at South Africa 2010 are creating quite a stir.

At times the noise made can be both deafening and overpowering but there`s no denying that they create an atmosphere.

But if some people had their way they`d be no more.

Already people are requesting that they be banned citing possible hearing damage as a reason whilst others complain that they drown out the natural noise form the crowd.

Some parties are in agreement but others are against.

However, one player who`d like to see them banned is Manchester United`s Patrice Evra.

Evra, who captains France has blamed the noise the vuvuzelas make for his sides poor performance in their opening game of 2010.

Patrice reckons that they prevent players from communicating on the pitch and are also responsible for the player`s being woken up at 06:00 hours.

What do you reckon, should they be banned or do they add to the occasion?

bloody awful things, ruining the WC and stopping the fan chants. Just hating that noise, they should have been banned apart from maybe the opening game or ceremony.
The Fear
I dont mind them, fair enough there should be a ban at the times they can be blown. However, I believe Evra was just making excuses about not being able to communicate because quite frankly France wasn't playing as a team because they couldn't communicate but simply there was no leadership like Viera or Zidane. Due to the lack of leadership they looked like a team of individuals all doing their own thing.

any old excuse from Evra then!

France looked very bad and disconnected, much like the vuvuzelas, which BTW are like watching while being attacked by massive hordes of bees!

Everyone should stfu and just accept them as they are a part of South Africa's culture. Since the WC is meant to be a multicultural thing why dont people just stop complaining and get on with the game.
