United - Ballack Move Shock!

Now that would be a shock would it not?

The Sunday Mirror carries an exclusive today that Sir Alex could well be about to make a shock move to sign Michael Ballack.

Ballack was released by Chelsea during the week after the London side couldn`t agree terms with the German international.

The reference tabloid suggests that United might not be able to offer Ballack the security of a two year contract he wants but might commit to a one year contract with the option of a second year.

Ballack, now 33, would add experience to our squad but might just leave us open to the suggestion we`re becoming something of a Dads Army with Scoles, Giggs, Van der Sar and Neville all approaching the end of their careers.

What`s your view, would Ballack be a good signing?

***** off! He's terrible

I'm not sure signing Ballack is the way forward. He isnt very quick, will probably spend more and more time getting injured and we'd have to get rid of at least one midfielder to accommodate him. On the plus side, if we played him in his proper position he'd be a goal threat, his passing is good and he could provide the type of experience and leadership our other players lack. The more I think about it, having Ballack in the team is like having a Michael Carrick that is consistent, can score, can pass and is a leader - to be fair, Ballack could be considered an upgrade based on last seasons form. Gotta say, if we go into next season having sold tosic, carrick and vidic for over £50m and brought in Joe Cole, Ballack and Gallas to replace them - I think the fans will riot ;)

He's done ok for us over the last 4 seasons, but we're releasing him because his legs are going. I think this is a typical lazy non-story from the mirror.

Cant imagine Ballack in a united kit.
TheFamousNo7
Then again i thought the same with Owen. Fergie never ceases to amaze me.
TheFamousNo7
id love to see how him and evra get on without killing each other if this is true.....

"Ceases to amaze me" are not words that I link with Taggart. Another waste of money but everyone will still stick by him when every other premiership manager, with Utd's money and pulling power would have been sacked years ago. Very poor return for money spent IMO.

Ballack is so terrible he scored a brace against United whilst at Chelsea. Can't imagine what your definition of "good" is, khoder. Well anyway, I despise your club and would hate it if Ballack ever played for Fergie. I'd even prefer him at Real Madrid.

'Very poor return for money spent', I will have whatever you're on because it must be strong.
TheFamousNo7
bit of a mixed repsonse then :-)
merlin
Yes money spent tot it up you all have a very limited memory when it comes to ridiculing Taggart. Tot it up it makes interesting reading the amount of money spent on poor players, just start with keepers.
Only-Sleggin
The players Fergie has bought whether good or bad resulted in 11 prem titles, 5 FA cups, 4 league cups, 8 community shields, 2 Champions League titles, just to name a few, hardly a poor return. Secondly does every signing Fergie make have to be a Ronaldo?
TheFamousNo7
Ballack is available on a free, so it's inevitable that he'll be linked with you given your money problems. To be fair, he'd be good business for a season or two, but his pace is rapidly going and he won't last too much longer.

Lies!!!!.....

RadioactiveD- Ballack was good when he scored against united. Now at 34 or whatever his age is he really is terrible.
khoder
I believe Ballack is still very good...I was very disappointed when we missed out on him(when he chose to go to Chelsea), and unlike Owen I do feel he could still offer something that none of our midfielders could also someone as professional as him, and since he never depended on speed for his style of play he is just as good as he was but with more experience. I think if he does come, and we play him in his favorite attacking role he will do well for us.... but i could also be wrong....i guess time well tell
ibrahiy
He's a total C***! Doesn't have the legs and we don't have the place for him here.
