'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Keane Safe!

Earlier this week we reported on how one of our old boys, Roy Keane, was the subject of much speculation.

The rumours indicated that after a season that had far from fulfilled expectations, at Portman Road, there was a suspicion that Roy`s managerial reign, at Ipswich Town, could be coming to an end.

It appears that those very same rumours we latched on to were picked up by Roy himself with the tabloids now claiming that Roy sought clear-the-air talks with the Ipswich owner, Marcus Evans.

Now we`d love to have been a fly on the wall listening to any discussions that took place because knowing Roy`s nature there`s every possibility that it would have been a colourful event.

However, the net result is that Roy will be in charge of the 'Tractor Boys` next season although we suspect the owner might well have insisted that he expects the club to perform a lot better next season than it did this.

But you`ve got to admit it`s great to see one of the games colourful characters still in gainful employment, is it not!
