United - Modric Enticement for Spurs?

United - Modric Enticement for Spurs?

A short but slick article to entice you into making a few comments!

Listed amongst the many pieces of gossip on the football pages of the BBC Sports site is a two line suggestion.

It infers that Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to continue his pursuit of Luka Modric, the Spurs playmaker.

This despite the fact Modric has signed a new deal to keep him at Tottenham.

The suggestion continues by implying that Sir Alex will give the Spurs manager, Harry Redknapp, the choice of three players to swing the deal.

Our question to you is

Which three players do you think could come into the equation?

We all know he's signed a new 6 year deal worth £25m, and unless people have been living under a rock for 30 years, the transfer fee no longer means a club just buys out a contract. For once we're in the driving seat against United, Modric is happy, surrounded by friends and has just achieved something that us Spurs fans haven't seen in 20 years. Surely a non starter.

no we want good players. its all just speculation as hes not going to leave and you are dealing with one of the top 4 teams in the epl now its not going to be easy like it was with berba as modders knows what we are aiming for at spurs and has had assurances when he signed his new contract that we are going to really push on and build on last season with new players and keeping the better ones

Guys, we all know its not going to happen the question was which 3 of our players would most likely be offered.I would reckon Gibson, Brown or O'shea/Owen and then a bit of money.

"Listed amongst the many pieces of gossip on the football pages of the BBC Sports site is a two line suggestion." How comical is that? At least us Spuds don't rely on the Beeb for our info...ha ha

Other than the fact it quite clearly isnt true the three players they probably talking about in my view are Carrick, Berbatov and one other from Gibson, Brown, Tosic, Owen or maybe even anderson if they were really pushing it. But seriously, what does it take for the media to stop flogging a dead horse? Perhaps Modric will need to put on a United shirt and set himself on fire before these guys get the picture or maybe that just translates to "Modric Hot for United"

Is an attempt at hiding from the disastrous financial situation your owners are in? How do the season ticket holders feel about supporting the Glazers debts?

I can only think of Rooney who I would genuinely want! Vidic maybe but we're covered there, is Evra that much better than Ekotto? maybe just a little but not enough to lose Modric......Man Utd's midfield is not as strong as it was. Gomes over Van der sarr.....SO GIVE US ROONEY THEN YOU HAVE A DEAL!
