United - Berbatov Linked to Serie A!

It wasn`t too long ago that both Sir Alex and Berbatov`s agent, implied that the Bulgarian had a future at Old Trafford.

Not so if you delve into the mirth of rumours on the internet, rumours that suggest that Berbatov is interesting the Italian duo of AC Milan and Juventus, both of whom are willing to part with 18 million to lure him away from Old Trafford.

The simple question now being, if there is a grain of truth in the rumour, should we sell him?

I would still say we should keep him.Right now I'm pretty impressed with our strike force.Rooney,Berba,Chicharito,Owen,Macheda,Diouf,we should just use this group. The first 4 can be used in the important competitions and the last two can be used in CC and FA cup and should be given the occasionald game inthe PL.

A lot will depend on Chicharito,I know its not right to apply pressure on him straight away but he will have to contribute his share of goals and I am confident he can if the service is provided to him, plus we will have a much improved Nani and Valencia and their importance shouldn't be undervalued and I do expect another offensive signing,so overall I'm happy with the look of the team.

If the report is true, then I would favor selling him and utilizing the funds to get someone like Silva or Ozil.

Even if we did, finding a replacement would cost us a lot more. And having just Rooney and Owen as strikers with PL experience is no good. An addition to the striking options would be better.

He wont be going Fergie's already said so. But, if he were to go to recuperate 18 mil wouldn't be too bad.

Al, maybe the bigger stage has gotten to him? No questioning his talent, just seems to have hit a wall mentally.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/10237268.stm - If this is true then things really aren't looking for the glazers or more importantly united.

If we could buy a decent striker that could partner Rooney or lead the line on his own if need be I'd say cash in,grab the money and run.I'm not saying Berbatov is a bad player, he's world class and will no doubt prove that in the future with someone else.He just doesn't fit our system and is not the type of player i think we need.We need a player who can grab his fair share of goals and take some of the weight of Rooneys shoulders!!! Torres fits the bill perfctly :)
