United - Owen Fitness Fight!

After seeing yet another season end with injuries playing a major part, Michael Owen has been taking steps to ensure he starts the 2010/2011 season in tip-top condition.

According to a leading tabloid, this weekend, Michael has been having secret (although we`d hazard a guess they`re not so secret now) training sessions at the Carrington facility.

The tabloid implies that Owen is working with weights, doing the occasion bit of running and also working with the ball as he attempts to return to the form that would make him a contender for a place in the starting eleven come August.

Between Rooney, Owen, Berbatov, Chicharito and Diouf there is going to be some serious competition next year. If they all stay fit, one of them will have to be sold or go out on loan in january.

Considering that the latter two will take a season or so settle down, we may not extend Owen's deal. Unless we get a god offer for Berba of course.

I believe extending Owens deal would be a good idea. We could get a decent amount for a player we got for free and no matter what we make it would be pure profit. Also, if no-one is interested we cant deny how handy he can be. Its also very good to hear that he is trying to get back to fitness, he could just not give a **** and happily sit and watch from the stands.

It is a very good deal and if he plays more next year, he will contribute a lot more goals!
