United - Benzema Blow!

With it being actively reported that Sir Alex would be making a second attempt to sign the French striker Karim Benzema, it looks like our hopes will be dashed a second time.

Benzema, who chose to go to Real Madrid, didn`t have the best of times last season failing to force himself into the first team on a permanent basis. However, Real`s sporting director - Jorge Valdano - has exciting plans for the striker next season, having been quoted in the media as remarking,

"We do not need more forwards - we scored 102 goals this season and Benzema didn`t play much. Next season Karim is like a new signing."

All very well but we wonder if a certain Jose Mourinho concurs with those thoughts!

Didn't we know that he was just not interested in joining our club,he had his chance but wanted to play for the all white,so its good that he now has a manager who loves to give a lot of playing time to young players who are close to 30 or 30+.

On a more interesting note it seems like Man City are trying to snatch David Silva who would be a fantastic signing in my eyes for any team,I would like to think that we too could do something about this and if we do have a transfer budget of say 20-25million pounds, then I would like him to be the player for our club over anyone else.

Joe Cole, now this is a realistic target.I'm still not sure on this guy but he would be a decent addition if he accepts a cut in his wages. He hasn't done anything to be given 80,000 pounds per week.

We'll have to see what Mourinho wants to do. He already said he prefers to work with older players so he might not want both Benzema and Higuain. But to be honest, I've gone off the idea of signing him. I kinda want to see what Chicharito can do before we bring in another striker.

We should give the new boy a chance before getting a young striker, who will cost us both in transfer and wages!

Benzema blows? Come on, he's not that bad, otherwise you wouldn't still be trying to sign him eh?
fifthcolumnblue
no, fcb, he's not bad at all. But is he worth that much money in wages? Guess we would sign him if it fits our flimsy (skint) budget!

Theres no denying the obvious talent he has and the great player he could be, whether it happens or not is another case. Real Madrid are hardly the best for developing players. I personally dont want him, he had the choice, now let him rot and destroy his career at Real.
