United - Rooney Injury Worry!

As England laboured but eventually got the win they wanted in their last international at Wembley before heading off to South Africa, Wayne Rooney appeared to pick up another niggling injury late on.

With the England boss, Fabio Capello, having made his allotted three substitutions already, Rooney struggling with a neck / shoulder problem, gestured that he wanted to come off.

Capello was having none of it and Rooney was forced to see out the remainder of the match with Capello remarking afterwards,

"Rooney said he had a small problem in his neck but it is not a problem."

"He wanted to come off for the last two minutes but I had made all the substitutions, so it was impossible to change."

"Rooney is okay. At this moment he just needs to play and find his form."

With the World Cup now only seventeen days away, any little knock, like that picked up by Wayne, is going to be given maximum exposure as the media hone in on the greatest tournament the world has known!
