United - Rooney Wrapped in Cotton Wool?

After seeing the tail end of his season interrupted by injuries, Fabio Capello has taken steps to ensure his star striker doesn`t pick up any further knocks in the countdown to the World Cup.

Over in Austria, before they returned to England to take on Mexico, at Wembley, this Monday, Fabio admitted to Rooney participating in non-contact shadow play and also withdrawing him from some of the more physical sessions.

However, whether Rooney will be rested for the clash against Mexico looks doubtful with Fabio commenting,

"I can leave some players out but Rooney always wants to play."

"If I tell him no, he says 'I want to play! I want to train! Why you substitute me, I want to score."

"It is good because he is an example to the other players and is positive to be around."

I take it his name will be on the team sheet tomorrow then Fabio!

It might be good idea for him to sit out the friendlies before the WC.. Wouldn't want him to get injured just before the cup now, would we?
SLampard
Not so sure that would be good for England but that would mean he would be pumped for United next season!

That wouldn't be too bad would it Elvido?
Antriksh (abmtd)
he'll be fine once he gets into the swing of things!
Red Boy
Nope Antriksh, not bad at all, not sure how many English supporters would want that though!
