United - Hargreaves Summit Talks?

Are wires getting crossed or has someone seriously got the hump?

Over the past few days we`ve reported on how the media have swung one way and then another over Owen Hargreaves omission from the 30 man provisional England squad for the 2010 World Cup.

We`ve read how Owen was in the 30 and then out of the 30 after Sir Alex had a few wise words with Fabio Capello.

We`ve also been treated to stories of how Owen, supposedly, sped away from Old Trafford after learning he wasn`t in the eighteen for the final fixture of the season, against Stoke City.

Now we`re supposed to swallow the suggestion from 'The Sun` that Owen is so miffed he wants summit talks with Sir Alex over his future.

Now somebody is either extracting every last column inch out of this one or Owen is being a silly boy thinking the amount of game-time he`s had since being injured warrants anything other than a pre-season off.

I`d suggest it is the former, wouldn`t you?

Owen is a has been and doesn't deserve a place. Hargreaves doesn't either too injury prone and will not last 2 more seasons at the top.

Again, another non-story from the british media. No one in their right mind would believe that Capello would take a player to the world cup who had played 40 seconds of club football in months. Capello is not an idiot and would not need fergie to explain why this would have been a bad idea. Secondly, if this story is true - are we meant to care? I'm a hargreaves fan and hope to see him back playing again - but if he is *****ed at fergie and is planning to put in a transfer request because he is so outraged then quite simply - I hope the door doesnt hit him in the knee on the way out. How can anyone possibly feel any emotion about Hargreaves not playing for us again when he hasnt played for us in almost two years? Next thing they'll be telling us that we wont be using our buy back clause for Giuseppe Rossi! Oh poor us! How will we ever cope with the two of them!

Im calling Bull****. Surely 1 min of football wouldnt earn you a place in the England squad, if Hargreaves honestly thinks he was going to get into the England squad i think we should check him out for head injuries.

some more bull***** from the media. I think Hargreaves will retire with us and hopefully fulfill what he was bought for.

This is really getting boring now.

Hell, not even I believe that one. As hilarious as it would be to see Hargreaves walk out on you, it would be quite disgusting given the debt he owes to your club for standing by him through such a long term injury. If it is in any way true it's a disgrace and shows just how low footballers have sunk.
