United - Promotion for Amos!

With the sale of Ben Foster, to Birmingham City, almost done and dusted, Sir Alex Ferguson has immediately quashed rumours that United will be looking to sign a back-up keeper.

Instead, and quite rightly, Sir Alex has promoted Ben Amos, the England U21 keeper to the first team squad, remarking,

"Ben Amos will now be our third goalkeeper. He`s very talented and has a good future ahead of him."

Congratulations go to Ben from all of us here at Vital Manchester United.

That was said about the Ben he's replacing! lol

All well and good, but what about the first-choice keeper? Edwin Van Der Sar can't go on forever, you know. :)
DubaiSpur
Congratulations to him.
TheFamousNo7
VDS cant go on forever, but when he is able to keep 12 clean sheets 21 games he's worth holding onto. Especially considering the others were only able to keep 17 clean sheets despite playing upto 17 more games!

I've seen Ben in our league(norway) playing for Molde, he has been crap, doubt he will become a superstar
Blue Mike
There arent many top goalkeepers setting the world alight in a foreign league at 20 years old to be fair. With potentially another 20 years left in his career its difficult to say what he will become.
tuscan3000
Another mid table prospect. Hope we have some plans of replacing VDS unless Kuszack is to become our no 1. :O

Sorry, Tuscan there is one. Matej Delac- Check him out.

First of all congrats Ben but I just hope next year we find someone to replace VDS.
