United - Who Needs Rest?

Well not those with plenty of youthful exuberance it would seem!

In the media, Sir Alex has pointed out that it is practice, at United, to give those involved in the World Cup twenty-eight days rest before they return to training. But, we suspect this period may be reduced if the involvement sees them reach the latter stages of the competition.

However one player, at Sir Alex`s request, is already destined to return ahead of the twenty-eight day period, our new signing Hernandez, or as Sir Alex explains,

"Normally we give the players 28 days rest. But with Hernandez we`ll bring him to Philadelphia as soon as his games with Mexico are finished."

"The simple reason is he`s young and he can handle coming in for training. But more importantly, it`s for him to integrate into the squad because he doesn`t know any of the players."

It appears to be a sound policy, especially as we can`t see Mexico progressing to far in the 2010 tournament!

He will play a crucial role in our team for the new season,if SAF does buy only one player, most probably a midfielder. So I hope Chicharito is ready for it.

Yep, that just adds pressure to the lad as there will be a lot of disgruntled fans at OT who were hoping for Benzema.

Benzema footballing wise would be a great addition but in my opinion let him rot in failure at Real Madrid i dont want anyone to have to settle for us. From what ive seen of Chicharito, which is very little, he does seem like a decent and well thought out signing.
TheFamousNo7
If Chicharito can handle himself physically and we bring in a central midfielder who can pick out a clever pass (like Silva, Modric etc) then he will do really well for us as his pace and movement are excellent.
tuscan3000
Unless he plays off Rooney, considering we play with Roo up front more often than not. Hope his flair and pace add to our counter attacks! Benzema would have been ideal but he would have been out on the flanks in big games or on the bench like Berba.
