United - More on Scholes International Comeback!

United - More on Scholes International Comeback!

Many people were surprised by the fact that Fabio Capello tried to lure Paul Scholes out of international retirement for the 2010 World Cup.

But not Gary Neville!

Having played most of their professional careers together, we doubt that there is anyone else who is more qualified to extol the merits of Scholes.

Speaking about Fabio`s attempts to lure Paul out of retirement, Gary explained,

"Capello spoke to Paul but he retired a few years ago and he`s not the type to go back on that."

"I`m not surprised Capello tried to get him out of retirement because, if there is one player I would try to bring back, it is Scholes."

Capello maybe got a bit desperate at the last minute and wanted Scholes because he is still probably the country`s best midfielder - but Scholes stuck to his guns."

Perhaps he realised that the hustle and bustle and the glare of the media spotlight were not what he needed this summer!

For some, there are more important things than football!

Hes not even close to being the countrys best anymore. He was the best player of his generation but he completley passed it.
