'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Did Fergie Pull the Strings?

There`s some sensational stuff in the tabloids this weekend.

Neil Ashton, of the News of the World, runs an exclusive article that implies that Owen Hargreaves was in the provisional squad of 30 for the 2010 World Cup.

But his inclusion appears to have been brief with Ashton claiming that after Sir Alex and Fabio Capello bumped into each other at the League Managers Association dinner in London last Monday, his mane was swiftly removed.

Instead Gareth Barry, despite having ankle problems was included.

Did Sir Alex tell Fabio a few home truths about Owen`s fitness state and the fact that he didn`t believe his recent, very limited, first team return, justified a World Cup inclusion?

If so, can we expect fireworks between Hargreaves and Ferguson when they next meet?

Or was it simply common sense prevailing?

More rubbish from the media, how can anyone select him when he hasn't played any football. Its not rocket science,u have to play,in order to have a chance of getting selected.

I'm just happy that we will have him for the start of the next season.Hopefully his return won't be delayed and we will see the best of him from now on.

OWEN TO BEING NO GOOD, STAY AT HOME AND REST...
spu 4 life
almost as sad as picking Theo Walcott and then just taking him on a site-seeing trip!
Red Boy
It would be farcical to include him in the squad, not after that long a break!

Crap, so well deserved.

If Taggart pulled the plug on Hargreaves then he's done England a favour for once (albeit out of selfish interest). Now way would Hargreaves be fit enough for a world cup campaign after such a long lay-off.
fifthcolumnblue
so will Ledley King?
Red Boy
Hargo half fit is still better defensively than Johnson!
elvido
If Hargo dares show any disrespect towards fergie he should have his contract rescinded after all the faith they've shown him. But i doubt anything will come of it that is assuming its true
