'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United - Ferguson on the Rooney Threat!

The domestic season, for us, is done and dusted, all that`s in the cupboard is the Carling Cup but for individual players there is the possibility of a greater prize to be won this summer, the World Cup.

One member of the, soon to be confirmed, final 23 to represent England will be Wayne Rooney.

After brushing aside any doubts about his fitness, following the groin injury that saw him limp off in our last Premier League fixture of the season against Stoke City, Sir Alex has waxed lyrical about the threat Wayne brings to the world stage, commenting,

"Looking at the strikers in the world today Wayne is up there with all of them. Opponents will not be looking forward to playing against him, they`ll be worrying because he`s such a dynamic personality."

Could Wayne be the one to lead England to glory?

Will his temperament hold?

Or are we a nation that will always be remembered as the nearly men?

Totally off topic but just wanted to talk about the Silva rumour,it seems as if there was some truth in this rumour, just heard the Valencia's manager talk about losing 2 important players at any moment. The first is surely Villa to Barca and the second hopefully will be Silva to our club.So lets wait and see what happens.

I've seen the quotes from Silva saying he would come here, but I've just read an interview on guilleme balagues site in which Silva suggests he's happy in spain and unsure whether he could make it in england. I'm not sure when the interview was done in comparison to the quotes from Silva - but I'd say if Barca and Madrid look elsewhere we would be the most likely destination. I just hope the price is not too high because I'm really not sure if he could be successful in such a physical league.

they all say that, I'm happy at xyz, not one player has ever come out and said, i'm so fed up here can't wait to get away, HOW'S YOUR 32+MILLION PLAYER DOING, still sulking...get rid of him, his like a bad apple...........

If you read the interview, you'll see what I mean. He is directly asked about links to united and whether he is open to a premier league move and though he doesnt directly answer the question - I get the impression england would not be his first choice.
