United - Ferdinand`s 27 Minutes of Joy!
Whilst the boss of our title rivals, Carlo Ancelotti, refused to let his pampered stars partake in the recent testimonial for Tony Carr, at West Ham, Rio Ferdinand managed twenty-seven minutes.
It may not seem a long time but for Rio it showed that, possibly, his recent injury worries are finally behind him and the captain of England can now look firmly ahead to the 2010 World Cup campaign, in South Africa,
Ferdinand, like many of us, has high hopes of the 2010 being a memorable tournament for England, remarking,
"I just want to get out there, play some football and be successful."
"If we can get everyone fit, and everyone is flying, we`ve got a fantastic chance of doing well in South Africa."
I guess that will be the deciding factor - fitness.
Like Rio says, if our major players can have an injury free tournament and arrive with no injuries whatsoever, then who knows, it might well be our year!
