United - Loose Lips Time for Alex!
The name of Jonny Evans appears with startling regularity on the team sheet these days.
With Vidic and Ferdinand having both been troubled by injury this season, Evans has already made a total of 64 appearances for the club.
Despite no official announcement being made by the club, the grapevine suggests that Jonny has signed a new contract with United.
The basis for these rumours being that Sir Alex, apparently, let the news slip out at the recent `Player Awards` ceremony.
Speaking about Jonny, Sir Alex is quoted as having remarked,
"Jonny has proved himself."
"He has signed a new contract and helps to provide a good foundation for the club for a long time."
Looks like the boss did indeed spill the beans on this one before it could be formally announced!
