United`s Green and Yellow Sea!

United`s Green and Yellow Sea!

Opposition supporters may take great delight in linking us with Norwich City when they see the sea of green and yellow within Old Trafford but we have a right to express our opinion!

For many it`s a strong opinion and a cause that has been picked up by the majority of the United support. How long Old Trafford remains a sea of green and yellow is down to the owners of the club, it could be weeks, it could be months or it could be years but the consensus is that it`s not just something picked up on a whim.

Naturally, it does look a strange sight and David Gill has remarked about the situation in a recent interview given to the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association.

Here`s the gist of what he had to say,

"I`ve asked the players and they say they are not distracted. But would I prefer all red and white instead of gold and green when you have a full stadium? Of course I would."

"Would I prefer not to look out of my office and see the scarves they are selling on the street? Off course."

"But as Alex has said, people have a right to protest. Nobody is going to stop that, and in the ground itself we are not going to stop that. But I do object to the obstruction of peoples` view by some banner when they have paid good money for their seats."

Fair points, a fair view and a fair, ongoing, protest!

Just happen to think that the "Green and Gold" campaign is a bit pathetic in all honesty Elvido, and the way your club likes to fleece the fans, it can only be a matter of time before they bring out a yellow and green strip to try and cash in. It might not go down too well in Stretford, but I'm sure they'll sell by the bucket load in Malaysia etc., whilst making the green and yellow scarves thing disappear.

Honestly i don' really care for the movement or the Red Knights, I support the club and the players on the field. Try not to dabble with things i can't change. Unless we get sugar daddies like the Blues (Noisy neighbors and Chavs alike) there is not point grumbling. Yes, we have fans everywhere. I am from Bangalore in India. That does not mean I love the team any less, I have been a supporter for a short while (about 13 years or so) compared to you chaps there. I don't think the fans will mind the fleecing if they are guaranteed trophies more often than not. Thankfully, United is not just about superstars and transfer budgets, history, winning mentality, fantastic supporters (who on occasion can be delusional, but hey it seems to affect all of you too) And most of all that desire and ability to compete at the highest level year after year. So save your "you have more supporters outside manchester and you have no money" speech for your lot.
