Rooney And Ferdinand Fit To Play At Wastelands

Considering we were denied a stonewall penalty at Blackburn on the weekend while Manchester City got another of those softies when Adebayor went down under minimal contact, we must expect refereeing as thoroughly one-sided as in January when the referees made it possible for City to beat us in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg, awarding a penalty for a foul a good two feet outside the box and failing to send off Carlos Tevez for a neanderthal challenge on Wes Brown.

So, in the light of the expected refereeing pressure, it is good news that Ferdinand and Rooney are both fit. The former picked up a little knock at Blackburn, the latter of course injured his ankle against Bayern (who specifically targeted his ankle...). But both are fit and ready to take on City and whatever outside help they will get.

Let's concentrate on the players doing their bit on the field. We need a tight performance from them!
