Fletcher Deserves Another CL Final

Darren Fletcher holds no grudges and he's moved on from the bitter disappointment of missing the Champions League final in Moscow - Owen Hargreaves was ahead of him in the pecking order - and in Rome when he was suspended after a very harsh sending-off.

'Playing in a Champions League final is definitely something I want to do,' he said.

'Every player wants the opportunity to do that and I know all the lads are desperate to get back there for a third year in a row.

'I was really disappointed to miss out last year.

'But I don`t hold any grudges about it, I`m just determined to get back there and help the team lift the trophy again.'

And he deserves one as he played a very, very important part in getting us to Rome last season but he could not enjoy the fruits of his labour. So the others owe him a big performance, to grant him the chance of finally appearing in a CL final. Bayern Munich are beatable and we are capable of beating them. And we have to do so, not just for the sake of the season but for the sake of Fletch.

Threw it away like Utd, if you lose the Prem it may be a bad season for Fergie.....

Well - not gonna happen this year ffs - stupid goal to give away in first half, but Robbens goal was awesome
Bayern were NOT the better team on the night, but Berba couldnt do anything constructive when he came on.....

Any ideas as to what state Rooney's ankle is in after tonight? Strikes me as a rather desparate and stupid decision to start him tonight - if he's really aggravated the injury not only has taggart damaged manu's title prospects, he's reduced England's chances at the World Cup and damaged your most valuable asset. Not happy, suspect I'm not alone.

Rooney played fine at the start and seemed to have no ill effects. He simply rolled his ankle again. It was bad luck the first time and no different this time. Although the bayern players kicking him on purpose didnt help.

Howard, Its bad enough that your clubs has hardly achieved anything in 20 years, but this season has been embarrassing enough for your lot - without you adding to it by trying to pretend that your position is something anybody in the top four should either care about or be envious of. As for 123spurs - enjoy that 30M - I cant see us shopping at your club again - you only sell faulty goods ;) lol

I always root for you guys in europe, thought you were unlucky tonight. Games like this is also where you miss Ronaldo! However Alex Ferguson has no class whatsover, bitter as ever in his post match interview. Even Wenger the Moaning To$$pot showed great respect for Barca after losing, Fergies "Typical Germans" comment showed him out to be the bitter old man he really is.

No fun to be made. Its obvious bayern had no hope in hell if it wasnt for the card.Bayern lacked that extra man in mid & 10 men evened the odds. They also wanted to see Shrek leave in stretcher.

As soon as you shipped that first goal before half time, I thought the writing was on the wall. .....and that was before you lost the Angel Rafael! Carrick was Cr*p, and the defence shaky. Rednose looked a broken man at the end....so I'll forgive him his remarks.

Brilliant strike from Robben, absolutly smashing, fair play! No shame going out over two legs to a very good Bayern side, congrats to them!!! We're still only two points behind Chelsea and considering we've played half a season without a back four even finishing 2nd to a brilliant Chelsea side will still have been a great achievement! We've won three in a row for the second time and four in a row is a big ask from any team, that's obviously why it's never been done before!!! Keep the red flag flying high, 'cause Man United will never die!!!.... I'm loving the bitters comments...lol!!! I'm sure wastelands will be a European fortress in the very near future! Money can't buy you love but for us it's too tight to mention ;) Simply RED!!!

I love it when Zea goes into hiding after the Scum lose a game. If Liverpool lose or drop points there is a full article up within minutes on Vital Scum but if United loses then we have to wait days for Zea to come up with and excuse as to why they lost but I just think its cause he wants the storm to blow over so he wont get so much slack for the excuse he comes up with.

I dont see what peoples problem is with Rooney playing. He started the game and was absolutely fine up until he rolled his ankle again. We could have waited 6 weeks for him to be fit and he could have rolled his ankle after 5 mins. In my view the right decision was made. Before we went down to 10 men we never looked like we wouldn't have enough to go through. If anything is to blame its Gary nevilles ridiculous handball and michael carricks two performances in general. As for fergie upsetting a lot of people - well hes been doing it for over 20 years Im sure he'll get over it.
