Fletcher Deserves Another CL Final

Fletcher Deserves Another CL Final

Darren Fletcher holds no grudges and he's moved on from the bitter disappointment of missing the Champions League final in Moscow - Owen Hargreaves was ahead of him in the pecking order - and in Rome when he was suspended after a very harsh sending-off.

'Playing in a Champions League final is definitely something I want to do,' he said.

'Every player wants the opportunity to do that and I know all the lads are desperate to get back there for a third year in a row.

'I was really disappointed to miss out last year.

'But I don`t hold any grudges about it, I`m just determined to get back there and help the team lift the trophy again.'

And he deserves one as he played a very, very important part in getting us to Rome last season but he could not enjoy the fruits of his labour. So the others owe him a big performance, to grant him the chance of finally appearing in a CL final. Bayern Munich are beatable and we are capable of beating them. And we have to do so, not just for the sake of the season but for the sake of Fletch.

Well - not gonna happen this year ffs - stupid goal to give away in first half, but Robbens goal was awesome
Bayern were NOT the better team on the night, but Berba couldnt do anything constructive when he came on.....

Any ideas as to what state Rooney's ankle is in after tonight? Strikes me as a rather desparate and stupid decision to start him tonight - if he's really aggravated the injury not only has taggart damaged manu's title prospects, he's reduced England's chances at the World Cup and damaged your most valuable asset. Not happy, suspect I'm not alone.

We're the last team left in Europe. 5 times. Forever in our shadow.

Rooney played fine at the start and seemed to have no ill effects. He simply rolled his ankle again. It was bad luck the first time and no different this time. Although the bayern players kicking him on purpose didnt help.

Howard, Its bad enough that your clubs has hardly achieved anything in 20 years, but this season has been embarrassing enough for your lot - without you adding to it by trying to pretend that your position is something anybody in the top four should either care about or be envious of. As for 123spurs - enjoy that £30M - I cant see us shopping at your club again - you only sell faulty goods ;) lol
