Keane and Neville Not Ready

Looks like reports of Roy Keane's imminent return were wide of the mark.

Sir Alex has said that both Keane, who has been recovering from a broken foot and Gary Neville who has a groin injury are some way off fitness.

It was thought they might feature Monday night's friendly at Burton Albion's new stadium. Ferguson explained:

'Gary was due to play and pulled out because he is not feeling 100% but it is not a blow. We were going to play him for an hour so we have decided to leave him in training sessions at the moment because we get more out of him. But there is not a chance of making the Charlton match.'

And on Keane: 'Keane is back in light training but his injury is difficult to assess. They tend to take longer than you think. Metatarsal bones are pretty fragile and he is on the way back, I think probably two or three weeks.'

Still, will give him plenty of time for his media work. Oh, ............... !
