Hargreaves Might Be On The Bench Tomorrow!

Wayne Rooney is United's only new casualty following the 2-1 loss at Bayern Munich. He will miss 2-3 weeks which is a blow but it is softened by good news: Owen Hargreaves and John O'Shea are both closing in on a return.

Sir Alex told reporters at his Friday press conference that both players were training well and one of them might be on the bench against Chelsea, with the other having to settle for a substitute berth against Bayern next Wednesday.

Now, as we all know, Owen Hargreaves has been excluded from the Champions League squad which would mean that he gets to be on the bench tomorrow. This would be an incredible boost even though I can't see him playing: Fergie won't risk throwing him in unless we are three up and somehow I don't think that will happen...

Hopefully it's not another false dawn though because having Hargreaves back for the run-in would be incredible; for starters, Fletcher would not have to play every single game. It will be especially relevant if we manage to wriggle past Bayern despite the disappointment of the first leg. Fingers crossed!

Now THAT could be great news. What a reception he'll receive IF he does come on and I hope he does!

Don't get you're hopes up! If he's on the bench it's probably just a physological boost to help the boys confidence! I'll bet any money he won't feature at all this season but I hope I'm wrong! And Zae I wouldn't even dream of us being 3-0 up against Chelsea. i'll take a drap draw as i think a reverse is more likely after Bayern and the way Chelsea have played in the last couple of games!!!
