Five Reasons Why United Will Beat Bayern Tonight
I outlined why Bayern will beat Manchester United in tonight's Champions League quarter-final game. Now it's the other side: let's see what points to a United victory.
1) United are the better team. As simple as that. We have a bigger squad, a better first-team and we are superior to Bayern in almost every position.
2) The suspension of Bastian Schweinsteiger. One of the more impressive performers of Bayern's season, he is a vital component of their midfield and will be sorely missed.
3) Wayne Rooney. Need I say more?
4) Bayern's defence. It's been porous all season: Daniel van Buyten and Martin Demichelis are having a poor campaign, poor Holger Badstuber has to fill in at left-back even though he's a centre-back by trade while Philip Lahm is out of form and struggling at right-back. They should be vulnerable to the attacking trio of Valencia, Rooney and Nani.
5) Robben's injury problems and Ribery's lack of commitment. The former is nursing a calf injury while the latter looks like his heart is not in what he's doing. A CL quarter-final against United might rouse him sufficiently but at present it looks like neither of Bayern's most dangerous players will be at 100 percent.

Barring an unforseen collapse in form, we should come away with a decent result tonight. They aren't a bad team and Ribery and Robben are going to cause any team problems - but with our recent record in europe - we should be able to get a decent result. My guess would be 0-4.

I was gonna say...that would be an outrageous result...
I agree with the second one, I was thinking either a tie or we sneak a goal past em....but they will be tough to beat as their priority this season is the champs league...otherwise ribery is gone...

I dont think winning two champions league medals this season would keep him at Bayern. After all, the "great" real madrid have summoned him.

Robben Doesn't even start .. On our side Rio and Roo both start .. Red Nev in the wing .. No Gomez .. Olic to lead the line .. Omens are good

very nervous first half....they probably should have had an equaliser....but i could care less...I think the way its going we probably do have more goals in us....nani's missed a good chance (unlucky) and rooney missed a good chance to add to that so it could have been 3-2 by now so 1-0 s a good reflection of the game so far i think hopefully we could up it up a notch especially when valenica gets on

Get more solid in defense a bit more clinical up front and it will be more of a walk over.

very disapointing finish...they deserves their win tbh...and scary scene at the end with rooney picking up an injury...hopefully nothing serious
my worry is not only for rooney but the fact that we fielded our strongest team pretty much yet they had a couple of players missing such as robben and i felt they dominated the match....yes we had a couple of chances in the first half and if these would have gone in then maybe things would have been different but the lads didn't have a good shift
again lets hope rooney is not injured otherwise good bye premier league as we would surely lose to chelsea

Bad day at the office for our guys ... Bayern got a deserving victory .. We still got the away goal .. Our only good thing from this match .. Midfield was horrible .. Nev .. No words .. Plz retire .. Roo injury looks worrying .. Evra for the second goal .. Wat was he thinking.. We were sitting too deep .. Van Bommel was terrific .. Lets see wat happens at OT . Hope roo is fit and firing . No bite in our midfield today ..

The tactics were not right,we sat too deep inviting pressure,they were there for the taking and if we were more brave we could have scored another couple but full credit to Bayern but it will be a totally different game at Old Trafford,I don't care if Robben and Bastian are back for them,this was our worst performance for some time and its highly unlikely that we will put in such a performance again.

the leg at OT will be much different. I'm still pretty confident that we will be able to pull through. After allwe did manage a very important away goal.

It depends very much on what sort of a lathering you get from the Blues on Saturday. On current form, I'd say your team will be going into the Bayern return with their tongues still hanging out from Saturday! lol
