'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Berbatov 'I Turned Down United'

Berbatov says United made an 'unconvincing' bid to sign him before he sealed his £10.9million move to Tottenham.

Berbatov: 'I had a meeting with a representative of Manchester United and he told me that they have been following me for a while.

'But Tottenham showed me clearly how much they want me there and United wasn't really convincing.

'I'm happy that I will play in a club with high ambitions. There were people from Tottenham watching me playing for a while but I was watching them too and I really like the way they play.

'The team tries to play beautiful football, which I like very much, and the manager is exceptional. The players have great respect for Mr Jol and all he wants is for his team to play beautiful football.'

Why would he want to sign for ManU when the mighty Spurs have made an offer! LOL
mightylillywhite
he would of been a decent replacement for van nistelrooy but tottenham got the better.

Good lad, Good lad...

All you can really say is that he obviously lacks ambition. I can understand Shearer rejecting united to join his boyhood club, but this guy is obviously a bit of a moron. Let's hope he's Sergei Rebrov (Mark II)

The bright lights of London came calling !!

What bright lights...it's a dump! But with Van Whistle Dive (maybe), Shrek, Sahahahaha, Solskyjaeareaer and some promising youngsters he probably thought he'd struggle to get in the side and lets not forget fergies uncompromising attitude and his treatment of stallwarts like Beckham, Keaneo and recently RVN he must have thought he would be on a hiding to nothing.

Come on! manchester even makes the sh*t hole that is north London classy. Maybe he wanted a club that was going forward not backwards
ihatescum
