Oh Owen Hargreaves, You're The Love Of My Life

How wonderful it was to sing the song the headline refers to, after Moscow. We loved Hargreaves because he was good, he was committed, he loved it here and he was a very important member of one of the best teams in the club's history.

Since then, though, Owen Hargreaves has been in hell. Having failed to make a single competitive appearance since September 2008, one must say that his career was and probably still is in grave danger. However, he has made the first tentative step tonight.

He played. For the reserves. Admittedly, that's not much. But he was actually on the pitch for a competitive game in the Manchester United shirt (for 45 minutes). And he was quite good, though, again, that's not saying much as Burnley reserves do not exactly strike fear into their opponents' heart.

But still, Owen Hargreaves completed 45 minutes without any ill effects. We can, at least, begin to dream again. Dream about singing 'oh Owen Hargreaves, you're the love of my life, oh Owen Hargraves, I'd let you shag my wife, oh Owen Hargreaves, I want curly hair too!'
