'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rooney WILL Play Against AC Milan

David Beckham is officially excited. The man is unlikely to start at Old Trafford on Wednesday but he just can't contain his enthusiasm about returning to the place.

'If I play on Wednesday I won't be frightened but I will be excited because I played in that stadium for many years and I know what it means to be a Manchester United player.

'I know what it means for opponents to play there.'

He could have been a little more elaborate on this point - I mean, I have no idea what it means for opponents to play at Old Trafford. But if it's anything like the goosebumps I get when we visit San Siro or the Bernabeu or the Camp Nou then he might just be excited.

By the way, Beckham has exciting team news for us: Rooney will play.

'I'm sure Rooney will play,' he added.

'I think he's had some problems in the last few days but he had the whole weekend to recover.

'He's a fine player and he'll want to participate in the match. Alex Ferguson will certainly use the best possible formation.'

David, I hope the medical staff shares your optimism about Rooney because right now for some reason I can't help thinking that we're screwed. Altough with a midfield three of Gibson, Fletcher and Scholes we won't have too much cause for optimism even if Rooney makes it...

Hope Rooney makes it, can't see us making it with only Berba up front and Gibson playing in the middle!

As long as Gibson doesn't play we should be fine Playing with something like: Van der Sar Rafael...Ferdinand...Vidic... Evra Valencia...Scholes...Fletcher...Nani Park Berbatov and we should be alright.

can't wait - it has all the prospects of being a fantastic tie!

I don't know why u think Gibson will start. It looks very unlikely that we will throw Gibson in a game of such magnitude.
