Down To The Bare Bones - Brown Out, Too

Here's a quick summary of our current problems: Wayne Rooney is a major doubt, Carrick is suspended, O'Shea, Anderson, Giggs, Owen and Evans are all injured and now reports suggest that Wes Brown might have broken his fifth metatarsal which would rule him out for the rest of the season.

Milan visit Manchester on Wednesday night and we're well and truly down to the bare bones here. We have three central midfielders and one of them is Darron Gibson. We have two strikers and one of them is Mame Biram Diouf. We have two right-backs and one of them is Gary Neville. I expect Ferdinand to pick up an injury during the warm-up, just for good measure.

It's not all doom and gloom though. We've just heard the news that John O'Shea might, just might, return before the end of the season. Hurrah, if we're lucky he'll play two or three league games. What a boost.

Seriously, though, there's not much we fans can do on Wednesday. We can give our full backing to the team and we can pray, silently, that AC Milan will be inept enough not to take advantage of our horrendous problems...

With this run in we have, and also CL top play in Im getting worried - saying that, Cech out for a month and Hilario well being crap - gives us a fair bit to chew on and maybe we can put a few points between us and Arsenal and Chelski....

I can see Arsene and Leonardo licking their chops!! I would rather see us play Park Nani through the middle in front of Scholes and Fletch. If Rooney is not playing, of course. If he does play, we'll probably see a midfield of Park, Scholes, Fletcher and Valencia.

To be fair brown hasn't been that great lately so he wont be as big a loss as O'Shea was. Neville wouldn't do very badly against milan if we play very defensively as I expect we shall, considering that he would be considered young amongst the players in that team.

Nev is playing - we do still have quite a strong back four tonight!
