United Sign Yet Another Young Prospect

Another young player is set to sign for Manchester United: Standard Liege full back Marnick Vermijl will wear our shirt from next season. The 18-year-old had trials at Old Trafford and he allegedly impressed Fergie enough to snap him up.

'They said he was the best right or left back they had seen in years,' Vemijl's father, Dirk, told Het Laatste Nieuws.

'Ferguson told me that Marnick would become a fixture in the Manchester United squad in the following years.'

Easy on the promises, though. Fergie declared, only a few weeks ago, that the Da Silva twins would hold down the full-back spots for a decade. So yeah, I'm glad to see another highly rated youngster arriving but please don't go overboard just yet.

Is Fergie prepping for his retirement??
I think hes going to try building the youth like he did with Becks era, and so Mourinho can just walk in to the job with a damn fine squad as it is.....

I think Fergie is preparing a squad for the manager that comes in too! I still would rather see some one like Ole given a chance, considering that he would know most of the players in the youth set up very well. Mourinho would just buy old established stars.

Great news it looks like we'll have a very bright future if we manage to hold on to all the young players we have and they all manage to fulfill their potential.

Totally off topic but I'm just hoping to see petrucci given a run in the first team squad and see how it works.

That would be interesting - not seen him in any reserve games though..
