Nani: I Am Strong And I Never Wanted To Leave

What an amazing turnaround for one Luis Almeida da Cunha, known as Nani. In December, United fans were, by and large, resigned to the fact that his career at Old Trafford was virtually over.

Now, at the beginning of February, with Nani having started five consecutive games and done well in all, the picture suddenly looks very different. Not sure how long this will continue but right now Nani seems to be a pretty good player. A useful one, even. His mental strength had been questioned before by many, me included but it looks like he's got more reserves of it than we thought - and that's why he never really considered a move away from United, despite all the rumours suggesting one was on the cards.

'I never wanted to go,' he said.

'When you are feeling low and things aren`t going well, you do feel alone and there have been times like that. But I never thought about quitting and going back to Portugal.

'I was in a bad position sometimes and it wasn`t easy to get back up again. Of course, your confidence does suffer on occasions and you get down.

'But I have shown I don`t get depressed too easily. I am a strong personality. If you are not a strong character then it will drag you down.

'I am not like that. I am sure I have the quality to be one of the best in the world. I can achieve that.'

Way to go, man. But his sudden elevation, with the confirmation that he is a lot better player on the right than on the left, another interesting problem presents itself... can you guess what it is?
